Saint-Saens Opera 'Helene'
This piece hasn't even been heard for over a hundred years! It was written for Dame Nellie Melba and has 3 soloists and
chorus. Nice to be recording an opera like this in studio conditions....doesn't happen much these days!

AUSTRALIA - Septmeber 2006
I made two recordings in Melbourne for Melba. A lovely horn piece (played by Ben Jacks, principal of the Sydney Symphony
Orchestra) written by Damase, dedicated to Barry Humphries (!). Played by the State Orchestra of Victoria, conducted by horn
legend, Barry Tuckwell.
Also on this trip, a recording of South Melbourne Town Hall's massive organ. Organist and composer Calvin Bowman played
a selection of contemporary Austalian works. Very impressive. |

RSNO/Serebrier - Ned Rorem Concerti (August 2006)
Following on from the success of Rorem's violin and flute concerti recorded which I recorded last year for Naxos, these
sessions in Scotland were to record his Piano concerto No.2 (there is no Piano concerto No.1!) and Cello Concerto. The Soloists
were the prodigiously talented pianist Simon Mulligan, and cellist Wen Sin. I engineered and produced these sessions, assited
by James Walsh and another excellent visiting engineer from the ABC in Melbourne, Richard Girvan. |

SIMONE YOUNG/STEVE DAVISLIM - August 2006
I travelled to Hamburg to do some sessions for Melba of Benjamin Britten's folksong settings. Simone Young, who normally
conducts in Hamburg, was accompanying tenor Steve Davislim. |
BOURNEMOUTH SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA - June 2006
More Wagner! This time a really great disk Stokowski's famous transcriptions - inlcluding a synthesis on Parsifal
and Tristan (which is over 30 minutes long!).
These sessions, conducted by one of their favourite conductors José Serebrier, were quite special as all the
musicians seemed to get real enjoyment out of the music. I engineered and produced this CD with help from my trusted
second engineer, James Walsh.

STANFORD SYMPHONIES - June 2006
Back with the BSO yet again to record the complete Stanford symphonies with David Lloyd-Jones, an old favourite. Andrew
Walton was producing these sessions for Naxos. The symphonies are being recorded at different times throughout this year and
next. |
LONDON PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA / PHLHARMONIC CHOIR / ION MARIN - Abbey Road, April 2006
These sessions were to record some new compositions by Lebanese composer, Oussama Rahbani, commissioned for the opening
of the new Islamic gallery at the V&A in July. The sessions had 9 Lebanese soloists and full choir and was a real fusion
of musical styles. This 48 track recording was engineered and produced by myself.
LONDON PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA/MARIN ALSOP - April 2006
Renowned conducor Marin Alsop completed her monumental Brahms cycle at Watford Town Hall with these sessions to record
Brahms' Symphony No.4. The world-famous LPO were in top form. The recording was made in surround-sound. (The photographs are
coutesy of conductor Jeri Lynne Johnson, who was also at the sessions)

Renowned conductor José Serebrier was performing Glazunov's
attractive symphonies 4 and 7 for a major record label recently. This was with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra,
for whom José Serebrier has conducted many times. The recording was for
Warner Classics and it is a continuation from maestro Serebrier's earlier recordings of Glazunov symphonies for the same
label.
ROYAL LIVERPOOL PHILHARMONIC - January 2006

| David Lloyd-Jones with Philip Dukes discussing the viola concerto |

|
| David Lloyd-Jones, Anna Barry, Andrew Knowles, Jonathan Small |

David Lloyd-Jones conducts the RLPO with soloists Philip Dukes (Viola - pictured above), Jonathan Small (Oboe), and Thelma
Handy (Violin). These recent sessions were to record some spectacular pieces by British composer William Alwyn. The pieces
included his Pastoral Fantasy (for viola and orchestra), his oboe concerto and a neo-classical concerto grosso.

THE ADELAIDE RING - November/December 2004
The recording of the first all-Australian Ring Cycle in Adelaide, 2004, was a pioneering event. It is the first
recording of the Ring to be in Surround-sound and will be released in 2006 in hybrid SACD format; another first. The recording
took place in November and December of 2004 and the post-production has just been completed in Melbourne. It employed two
SADiE systems: an H64 and a DSD-8. The H64 was, rather excitingly, the first 'fully-loaded' H64 to be used professionally and was
shipped from the UK especially for this project.
There were 4 complete perormances of each of Wagner's 4 Ring operas and each one was recorded live onto 64 tracks. From
beginning to end, over 80 Hard disks were used (each with a 250Gb capacity), amounting to about 20 terrabytes of information!
